North Detailing

Paint enhancement refers to a single-stage machine polish, which is applied to restore the gloss and luster to the paintwork. It is designed for vehicles that don’t need extensive paint treatment but need a bit of TLC.

Many customers find that their vehicle has light wash marring and surface scratches, which will leave the finish looking lifeless and dreary. The gloss and purity of your car’s paint might deteriorate over time. This often results from oxidation and the accumulation of swirls, or little scratches in the paint as seen in the image below.

This whirling appearance can be caused by both incorrect hand washing and automatic car washes, while oxidation is most obvious on older vehicles with single-stage paint.

Many people have seen an old automobile that has faded over time because UV rays have oxidise the paint, making it appear lighter and chalkier.

Detailing uses gentle abrasives and a foam finishing pad to eliminate the majority of the swirls and offer a much glossier, sharper, and truer colour.

PAINT ENHANCEMENT VS. PAINT CORRECTION

PAINT ENHANCEMENT is completed in a single stage.

To restore the flake or pearl to your paint colour, we can employ finer grades of polishes that use light abrasives.

Paint enhancement aims at improvement rather than perfection. Paint enhancement only focusses on the clear top layer flaws that are robbing your car of its shine, not to get the paint free of swirls.

Your paint will appear substantially deeper after this type of detail.

PAINT CORRECTION is completed in two stages.

Applying a medium to heavy compound to the paint of the car all around is the first stage in paint correction.

This compound has abrasives that remove more clear coat flaws than a finer polish, making your car’s paint appear dull and cloudy. To revive the paint’s appearance, we go around the car again with finer grades of polish (like in paint enhancement).

We aim for a 95% flaw eradication rate when correcting paint, which is not an easy process. We strive to eliminate as many blemishes and dings as we can to bring back the mirror-like sheen.

We offer a range of car detailing packages with the option of adding paint enhancement.
